Star - Fact Talk #6

Stars are huge celestial bodies made mostly of hydrogen and helium that produce light and heat from the churning nuclear forges inside their cores. Aside from our sun, the dots of light we see in the sky are all light-years from Earth. They are the building blocks of galaxies, of which there are billions in the universe. It’s impossible to know how many stars exist, but astronomers estimate that in our Milky Way galaxy alone, there are about 300 billion.  Red is hot and blue is cool! We are accustomed to referring to things that are red as hot and those that are blue as cool. This is not entirely unreasonable, since a red, glowing fireplace poker is hot and ice, especially in glaciers and polar regions, can have a bluish cast. But we say that only because our everyday experience is limited. In fact, heated objects change color as their temperature changes, and red represents the lowest temperature at which a heated object can glow in visible light. As it gets hotter, the color changes

Time - Fact Talk #5

Time is a indefinite continuous progress of existence and events that occur in an apparently irreversible succession from the past, through the present, into the future. Time is refer as a fourth dimension. Investigations into the relationship between space and time led physicists to define the spacetime continuum. Time is relative Time passes faster for your face than for your feet (assuming you're standing up). Einstein's theory of relativity dictates that the closer you are to the centre of the Earth, the slower time goes – and this has been measured. At the top of Mount Everest, a year would be about 15 microseconds shorter than at sea level. First there is 370 days in year When the dinosaurs were alive, there were 370 days in a year. The Earth's spin is getting slower because the moon's gravity is acting as a drag, so days are getting longer, by about 1.7 milliseconds per century. Smallest measure of time The smallest standard scientific measure of time is the &q

Why we don't feel Earth movement? - Fact Talk #2

Hello guys, in this FactTalkSeries, I have written about the Earth movement. So let start. As we all know that earth rotates or spin daily. We all have one question like Why we don't feel earth movement...? The speed of the equator of the earth is around about 1675 kilometre per hour. The time taken by earth to complete around its axis is 23 hours 56 minutes. The speed of the earth is constant. So that we don't get acceleration or deaccleration to our body. As we can take any example like train or flight. As the train or bus is at constant speed we don't get any jerk.  From inside the Earth's frame of reference, we can't tell that we're spinning. But if we viewed Earth from the frame of reference of space, we would be able to see the movement.
